Nature and natural disaster are a part of our life and we have to live in harmony with it. With a small entrepreneurship team of Allianz Turkey employees. We strive to seek a solution to a problem that many people can be victims of.
It is among the top risks of the coming years that the warming and changing world continues to affect every geography with more natural disasters. Natural disasters caused approximately $230 billion in damages worldwide between 2019 and 2020, of which only approximately $72 billion was insured.
We started out with the motto “We should negotiate, not fight against natural disasters”. Technology has been our biggest helper in our journey. After many meetings, we decided to move forward with a local startup company. Iklim.co excited us with the claim of being able to predict storms, hail and floods with lightning radars located throughout the country. In addition, we can take into account geographical factors by modeling historical data through a customer notification system.
No matter how well we use technology, we know that customer perception is very important. We take care to establish correct and sincere communication with the customer.
First of all, we preferred to send notifications via SMS. It had to be worded carefully. Addressing the name of the Insured in the content, estimating the neighborhood, specifying the time interval of the upcoming disaster, adding the content and precaution pdf that changes according to the severity of the event were among the works we did.
We are looking forward to communicating our potential disaster forecasting information to our customers and seeing the output of self-management with our support of the process before damages occur. In 2020, we had the opportunity to experience the process with natural disasters happening in our country.
All these efforts were successful, and the result of the satisfaction survey, which we conducted after the warnings, was 4.6/5. We ensured that 86% of Allianz policyholders who received notification could take action.
We are very happy to see such satisfying results of the project that we have developed with all our enthusiasm.
We are proud of being one of the first companies to use meteorological data, which is already crucial in many sectors and fields, for the insurance sector. We see the benefit we provide to Allianz Turkey in terms of cost saving and new system integrations, and we put the customer at the center and allow them feel the difference of being a member of Allianz family.
